Dignity Learning is a project of Restoring Dignity, a Nebraska nonprofit organization. Dignity Learning provides educational curriculum, teaching materials, worksheets, handouts, guides, and other resources intended to support practical education in areas including healthy homes, cleaning, home and fire safety, home maintenance, and financial stability. By accessing, downloading, using, adapting, or teaching materials available through DignityLearning.org, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms.
Educational Purposes Only
Dignity Learning materials are provided for educational and informational purposes only.
The materials are intended to support general education and are not a substitute for professional advice, services, inspections, assessments, or recommendations from qualified professionals. Depending on the subject matter, users should consult appropriately licensed or qualified professionals, including attorneys, financial professionals, medical professionals, contractors, electricians, plumbers, housing inspectors, fire-safety professionals, government agencies, or other experts when circumstances require professional guidance.
Accuracy and Currency of Information
Restoring Dignity makes reasonable efforts to provide information that is accurate, practical, and useful at the time materials are created or updated. Responsibility of Organizations and Instructors
Dignity Learning materials may be used by organizations, agencies, educators, volunteers, community leaders, and other individuals who are not employees of Restoring Dignity. Unless Restoring Dignity has entered into a separate written agreement stating otherwise, individuals or organizations using Dignity Learning materials are independent from Restoring Dignity. Use of Dignity Learning materials does not create an employment, agency, partnership, franchise, certification, endorsement, or supervisory relationship with Restoring Dignity. Restoring Dignity does not supervise, control, or monitor how third parties teach, present, translate, modify, adapt, interpret, or implement Dignity Learning materials.
Organizations and instructors using the materials are solely responsible for:

ensuring instructors are appropriately prepared and qualified;

providing reasonable supervision and safety precautions;

determining whether activities are appropriate for participants;

complying with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations;

verifying locally specific information;

reviewing any changes, translations, or adaptations made to the materials; and

responding appropriately to individual circumstances that arise during instruction.
Safety and Practical Activities
Some Dignity Learning materials may discuss household cleaning, home maintenance, fire safety, appliances, electrical systems, plumbing, chemicals, tools, housing conditions, or other topics that may involve safety risks. Educational materials should not be interpreted as authorization to perform work that requires professional training, licensing, permits, specialized equipment, or professional inspection.
Users should follow manufacturer instructions, product safety warnings, building and fire codes, workplace safety requirements, and the advice of qualified professionals.
Restoring Dignity is not responsible for injuries, property damage, financial loss, or other consequences resulting from the improper use of tools, equipment, products, chemicals, appliances, home systems, or information discussed in Dignity Learning materials.
Financial Education Disclaimer
Pathways to Financial Stability and other financial education materials are provided for general educational purposes. They are not individualized financial, tax, investment, legal, credit, or benefits advice. Financial circumstances vary considerably between households. Participants should consult qualified professionals or appropriate government agencies when making decisions involving taxes, investments, debt, public benefits, legal obligations, immigration matters, or other matters requiring individualized guidance.
No Guarantee of Results
Restoring Dignity does not guarantee any particular result from using or teaching Dignity Learning materials. Outcomes may vary based on numerous factors outside Restoring Dignity's control, including the instructor, participant circumstances, local conditions, implementation, available resources, and changes made to the materials.
Modifications, Translations, and Adaptations
Dignity Learning encourages appropriate use of educational resources while maintaining the integrity and source of the original materials. If an organization or individual modifies, adapts, translates, shortens, expands, or otherwise changes Dignity Learning materials, that organization or individual is responsible for reviewing the resulting material for accuracy, safety, cultural appropriateness, and compliance with applicable laws and standards.
Unless expressly authorized in writing by Restoring Dignity, modified materials should not be represented as having been reviewed, approved, certified, or endorsed by Restoring Dignity. Any required attribution, copyright notices, Restoring Dignity logos, or other source-identifying information included in the original materials must remain in place unless Restoring Dignity provides written permission otherwise.
Third-Party Resources and Links
Dignity Learning materials and DignityLearning.org may contain links, references, resources, organizations, programs, or services operated by third parties. Restoring Dignity does not control third-party organizations or websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, policies, services, security, or accuracy. The inclusion of a third-party resource does not necessarily constitute an endorsement.
Assumption of Responsibility
Individuals and organizations choosing to use Dignity Learning materials assume responsibility for determining whether the materials are appropriate for their participants, programs, communities, and circumstances. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Restoring Dignity is not responsible for claims, injuries, losses, damages, costs, or liabilities arising from or related to the use, teaching, modification, interpretation, or implementation of Dignity Learning materials by third parties.
No Warranties
Dignity Learning materials are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Restoring Dignity makes no express or implied warranties regarding the materials, including warranties regarding accuracy, completeness, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, availability, or results.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Restoring Dignity and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, and representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or similar damages arising from the use of DignityLearning.org or Dignity Learning materials. Nothing in these terms is intended to limit liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded under applicable law.
Intellectual Property and Permitted Use
Dignity Learning materials remain the intellectual property of Restoring Dignity unless otherwise stated.
Restoring Dignity may allow materials to be downloaded, shared, translated, adapted, or reproduced for educational and nonprofit purposes subject to the permissions and restrictions provided with the individual curriculum or elsewhere on DignityLearning.org.
Users may not falsely claim authorship of Dignity Learning materials or represent themselves as Restoring Dignity, Dignity Learning, or an authorized Restoring Dignity representative without written permission.
Restoring Dignity may establish additional licensing requirements for particular materials.
Acceptance of These Terms
By downloading, copying, teaching, adapting, distributing, or otherwise using Dignity Learning materials, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms of Use and Educational Disclaimer.
If you are using Dignity Learning materials on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms on behalf of that organization.
Updates to These Terms
Restoring Dignity may update these terms periodically as Dignity Learning grows, curricula are updated, or legal and program requirements change. The most current version will be posted on DignityLearning.org.
